About the author
Robert V. Smith retired as Vice President of CBT University Consulting in 2017. Earlier he served as provost (chief academic officer) at both Texas Tech University and the University of Arkansas; chief research officer and graduate dean at both the University of Connecticut and Washington State University (WSU); as dean of pharmacy at WSU; and on pharmacy faculties of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Iowa.
Smith is a Fellow of both the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences and APhA Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Sciences. He was designated as a Distinguished Doctoral Graduate by the University of Michigan (UM) Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies and is recipient of a Distinguished Alumnus Award from the UM College of Pharmacy.
He is the author, co-author, or editor of more than 300 articles and 10 books in chemistry, the pharmaceutical sciences, higher education leadership, and personal and professional development.
Smith holds master’s and PhD degrees (pharmaceutical chemistry) from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. His bachelor’s degree (pharmaceutical sciences) was awarded cum laude from St. John’s University (New York). He lives in the Cultural District of Fort Worth, Texas.
